NO RECALL

Exhibited at GALLERI STALKE
Group exhibition | “ON PAPER” 2010

No Recall is a serie of images - which represent flashes of unconscious forgotten experiences, traumas and emotionally difficult moments back in time.
Neuroscientists have discovered that when someone recalls an old memory, a representation of the entire event is instantaneously reactivated in the brain that often includes the people, location, smells, music, and other trivia. Recalling old memories can have a cinematic quality.

“…Ditte Bolt shows digital photos - beautiful coloured compositions. A closer look indeed reveals that here are several layers of paper on top of each other; the sheets under are hidden and we can speculate as to what we could have seen on them: earlier versions on their way to the final perfection? Different motifs, which have been sorted out? We don’t know, but our speculations disturb the perception og the finished works. They become contigent - only one possibility among others….”
